Equity Gallery is pleased to announce that the second iteration and continuation of Eric Sutphin's Curatorial Workshop is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 22nd, at 6-8 PM. In this workshop, Sutphin will discuss different strategies for crafting a successful curatorial proposal and show, and the participants will collaborate to create an upcoming exhibition for Equity Gallery.
Session 2 of Suphin’s Curatorial Workshop is an experiment in pragmatic and democratic curatorial practice. We will view and discuss the works you are proposing. Through a process of deliberation and voting, we'll come up with a curatorial premise based on the works you have selected. The exhibition will include approximately 50% member work and 50% juried (non-member) work.
For Session 2 of the the workshop, please bring in images of 3 artworks that you would like to propose for inclusion into our curated show. One image should be your work, the second should be an emerging artist and the third should be an established artist. Since these works will be considered for the culminating show, they should all be accessible/available to include.
We invite both attendees from the previous workshop and new attendees to sign up for this three-part workshop!
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org if you're interested in coming.
