AN EAST WING ONLINE PROJECT SPACE EXHIBITION

“Suddenly I switched from my series of realistic Seaglass paintings to abstract anecdotes. Working free from any real world constraints and alone with my time, gave me not only a sense of expanse and relief, but an enthusiastic focus and passion for pure invention.

I collaged, painted and used mixed media on gessoed paper and canvas...and expressed new landscapes of color, form and energy. ‘Alternate realities’ emerged from my creative flow.

Organic and architectural elements anchor the painting’s identity.

My art took a welcomed detour, one I am embracing as I move forward. Last year brought with it among other things, an entirely new body of work. “ — Dianne Athey
