Post Work in the Online Marketplace – an Opportunity for Rose, Emerald, and Lifetime Members
Each current Rose, Emerald, and Lifetime member may post up to 5 works on our online marketplace, along with a short promotional video reel of the artist answering a series of standardized interview questions. NY Artists Equity will provide applicants with interview questions. Artists will be responsible for making short video clips for use in the promotional reel.
All works will be available for sale in the marketplace for a six month period. Each member may submit works twice per annum. Promotional reels will be posted on the website and social media to encourage sales.
Please note: Small works have proven most popular with our online collectors. We encourage members to submit small to medium works for this opportunity.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Deadlines will be posted to the Google group. To join the Google group, email members@nyartistsequity.org.
A completed application includes the following:
images of 7 works
completed application form with appropriate captions
a completed consignment form
three 20-second video clips of the artist’s work and/or studio
video footage of the artist answering two of the questions from the list of interview questions
The application may be filled out and additional materials uploaded via Google sheet, accessed by clicking below.
HOW NYAE WILL HANDLE SUBMISSIONS
Submission deadlines will be staggered every two weeks.
Complete applications will be accepted in the order received. We are unable to respond to incomplete applications.
If more than 10 applications are received by any deadline, the remaining completed applications will be posted in the next two-week period, until all completed applications have been posted.
OPen Call: the mother - the father
Call For Donated Works
NYAE seeks to mount a fundraising exhibition exploring the greatest of all first impressions, the Mother and Father, the architects of the human experience. The exhibition will comprise small works (either 6” x 8” or 8” x 10”) donated to NYAE for sale to fund lighting upgrades for Equity Gallery.
CALL FOR ENTRIES: Woodstock Artists Association & Museum, (WAAM)
New York Artists Equity Association Exchange Show, Equity @ WAAM, Equity Members Only
WAAM and New York Artists Equity Association in NYC present an exhibition exchange. Artist members from each organization are invited to apply to participate in a group exhibition at the partnering venue.
Selected Equity Association Artist Members will exhibit their work at WAAM from April 19–June 2, 2024.
Project Room
Equity’s Gallery’s new project space offers the opportunity for its members to show new, experimental or “in progress” works in an intimate setting and as an experiential alternative to its main exhibition spaces. The space comprises a 160 square foot alcove with three 8’H x 8’W professionally finished and illuminated viewing walls in a “U” dimension.
SCULPTURE COURTYARD
Equity Gallery’s new sculpture court offers opportunities for its members to show three-dimensional work designed for outdoor display. The space comprises 176 square feet and is 22 feet long by 8 feet deep. Running the entire length of the rear wall will be a 10-foot-high vertical planting wall. In the daytime the space is illuminated by a soft indirect light; a very basic outdoor flood light system will be used during open evening hours. Multi-purpose plinths for displaying works and benches for seating will be situated throughout. The courtyard will be open year-round weather permitting.
Open Call for Exhibition Proposals
Artists Equity is pleased to announce a year-round open call for exhibition proposals. We invite all artists, curators and collectives to submit proposals for solo exhibitions and group exhibitions. Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. We are looking for critically-engaged projects that are well-conceptualized and well-researched. The review committee meets regularly and proposals are accepted on a rolling basis.
