Join exhibiting artist Matthew López-Jensen for a neighborhood tree walk exploring street trees and their histories of care and neglect.
Join artist (and Citizen Pruner) Matthew López-Jensen on a tree walk this Saturday. We’ll gather at the gallery, spend some time with his new book Street Tree Tarot, then wander around the neighborhood looking at street trees and studying the history of care (or neglect) experienced by each tree. We’ll make a collective record of the trees we visit and hopefully offer a bit of help to a few along the way.
Presented in conjunction with Reading Trees, Matthew López-Jensen’s exhibition in Equity Gallery’s Project Space, this walk extends the exhibition’s invitation to look more closely at New York City’s street trees and our relationship to them.
