Our artist memberships are designed to provide varying levels of support and opportunity, as well as chances to be involved and give back. Each membership is intended to support artists at a specific stage of their career. From students to establish artists, we have something for you.
Ivory Membership
$65/yr
Who it’s for: student artists
What it provides: access to our vibrant community of artists and career development support
Who it’s NOT for: artists with an established studio practice
Benefits include:

Free or discounted access to programming & social events including workshops, lectures, critiques & clinics
Monthly newsletter & updates
Access to private online groups, networking events & socials
Cobalt Membership
$115/yr
Who it’s for: artists with an established studio practice
What it provides: community, career development support, opportunities to propose virtual exhibitions and submit works to group exhibitions
Who it’s NOT for: artists with a coherent group of works ready for exhibition
Benefits of previous level plus:
Eligible to submit works to open call juried shows and member exclusive opportunities at a special Members’ rate now including Annual Member’s Invitational
Eligible to submit proposals for virtual group exhibitions of 3+ artists; exhibition may include the submitting member (submission guidelines here)
Eligible to submit proposals for virtual project-sized individual exhibitions (submission guidelines here)
Biennial (every other year) virtual portfolio review by Michael Gormley or NYAE delegate upon request
First access to NYAE professional development workshops
Rose Membership
$165/yr or 4 payments of $42
Who it’s for: artists with a coherent group of works ready for exhibition
What it provides: community, career development support, opportunities to propose and submit works for group and solo project exhibitions
Who it’s NOT for: established artists who have a mature body of work ready for a solo exhibition
Benefits of previous level plus:
Expanded listing on NYAE website
Eligible to submit proposals for in-gallery or virtual group exhibitions of 3+ artists; exhibition may include the submitting member (submission guidelines here)
Eligible to submit proposals for small in-gallery or virtual individual exhibitions in our Project Space (submission guidelines here)
Eligible to submit works to be juried into NYAE Annual Gallery Invitational at our 245 Broome Street location
Biennial (every other year) studio visit or portfolio review (in person in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, or the Bronx, otherwise virtual)
Emerald Membership
$210/yr or 4 payments of $55
Who it’s for: established artists with a strong body of work seeking community involvement
What it provides: community, career development support, opportunities for group and solo exhibitions, curatorial experience
Who it’s NOT for: students or artists lacking a strong body of work
Benefits of previous levels plus:
Priority consideration for NYAE open calls, juried exhibitions and curatorial project proposals
Featured listing on NYAE website
Eligible to propose curatorial projects for gallery and online exhibitions, including group and solo exhibitions to be adjudicated by NYAE’s board of directors (submission guidelines here)

Who it’s for: artists at the Rose level who are seeking enhanced opportunities and support
What it provides: enhanced career development and exhibition opportunities tailored to the artists’ needs
Who it’s NOT for: students or artists lacking a coherent group of works
Benefits of Rose tier plus:
Free submissions to opportunities and open calls for life
Unlimited assistance with grant proposals, artist statements, and portfolio reviews upon request, subject to availability
